Create and install DSP profiles
When working with SigmaStudio, you can directly program the DSP over the network. However, if you don’t want to create your own DSP programs, but use profiles, provided by us or other users, we’ll show you how to do this.
What is a DSP profile? It is basically a set of commands that configure the DSP. It also contains additional information about controls, e.g. how to control the main volume or channel balance. If you’re interested how this looks like, check out this example.
What profiles are available? We provide profiles for some Bang & Olufsen Beovox speakers and a generic speaker profile. However, we’re interested to see what profiles other users will create for all kinds of vintage and modern speakers.
How can I install a profile? With the Beocreate software, you can select the sound profile in the settings:
If you do not want to use the Beocreate software, but a generic Raspbian installation, you first need to install the DSP toolkit. This comes with a small tool named install-dsp-profile. You can use this tool to download a profile from our web server or install a profile from a local file. Just run the command with the name of the profile, e.g.:
./install-dsp-profile basic-fullrange.xml
