The HiFiBerry power controller was specifically designed for pre-Pi5 Raspberry Pi models to ensure complete power-off capability. Older Pi models didn’t fully power off upon shutdown, resulting in considerable power consumption. This issue has been addressed with the Pi5, which can now enter an ultra-low power “power-off” state. Consequently, we will discontinue the HiFiBerry power controller.
However, we still have some stock available at a substantial 60% discount off the original price. Once these units are sold, no more power controllers will be available for purchase. If you’re interested in a power controller, now is your last chance to get one!
Can you also use it with a Pi5? Yes, you can. We just don’t think, the Pi5 needs the overhead of an external electronic switch anymore.
