Create your own steel case backplate (not only) for the DAC8x/ADC8x
We’ve received several questions about case options for the Pi5 DAC8x/ADC8x combinations. While there isn’t an “official” case available for this specific setup yet, there’s good news: our new steel cases feature an interchangeable backplate system. This means you don’t need to buy a whole new case every time you switch to a different HiFiBerry sound card—you can simply replace the backplate.
We may offer custom backplates for the DAC8x/ADC8x combination in the future, but with other projects currently in progress, it might take a little time.
If you have access to a 3D printer, you can create your own backplate right now. Just download this backplate file and print it—it’s designed to fit the Pi5 XLR steel case.
We’ve also included the FreeCAD design file, giving you full flexibility to customize the backplate as needed. You can even modify dimensions and create a version tailored to the Pi5 universal steel case for the DAC/Digi/Amp.
